Project Launching and Briefing

Pro Public organized a Project Launch and Briefing meeting for the "Harmonizing Conservation: Enhancing Freshwater Ecosystem Health through Sustainable Fish Management Project" on July 10, 2024, in Chaukune Rural Municipality, Surkhet District. Approximately 50 participants attended, including the vice chair and other elected and appointed representatives from the municipality and various wards, community members from riverside areas, representatives from Civil Society Organizations and media houses, and local intellectuals.

Mr. Prakash Dahal, General Secretary of Pro Public, highlighted the program's objectives and emphasized its significance for the overall development of Chaukune Municipality. Mr. Babu Ram Poudel, Executive Director and Team Leader of the project, presented the project's activities and implementation approaches. Mr. Binod Shahi, Senior Program Officer of the USAID Biodiversity (Jal Jangal) Activity also shared the overall objectives of the Jal Jangal project and discussed Pro Public's role in Chaukune RM.

The vice chair, other municipal representatives, and various community participants expressed their support for the project and thanked Pro Public and its team for implementing this project in Chaukune Municipality.
