Conference of State Parties (CoSP10)
Mr. Babu Ram Poudel, Executive Director of Pro Public, participated in the Conference of State Parties (CoSP10) on Corruption organized by UNODC in Atlanta, USA, from December 10 to 15, 2023. He seized the opportunity to showcase our organization's efforts to state delegations and Civil Society Organizations worldwide. Additionally, Mr. Poudel delivered an impactful oral statement during the plenary session, emphasizing our commitment to combating corruption on a global scale.
| Honorable President, distinguished delegates, My name is Babu Ram Poudel, I am the Executive Director of Pro Public in Nepal. In our collective efforts to combat corruption, we need the creation of robust civic spaces, empowering civil societies to eliminate corruption. We advocate for rigorous oversight mechanisms, and independent bodies ensuring devotion to integrity standards. It's imperative to enforce anti-corruption laws rigorously, fortifying institutions to hold entities accountable. A comprehensive Whistleblower Act, ensuring privacy and legal protection, is vital. Reforms in political financing transparency are crucial to prevent secret corruption within electoral processes. Let us unite in these actions to uphold integrity and combat corruption effectively.
