20 ward level capacity building Training Accomplished

During the period ( April-June 2025), Financial and technical supported by European Union/UN Women, Pro Public and its consortium partners ( YGGP Surkhet and Needs Nepal)  under the Social Accountability for Gender Equailty Project, were accomplished 3 days long ward level capacity development trainings in 20 project wards of 10 local government of three province ( Madesh, Karnali and Sudurpaschim) where 402 excluded group, Dalit, Janjati, individuals with disabilities, minorities including 359 women, and 43 men, participants enhanced their knowledge and skills to utilize social accountability tools for impacting decision-making, promoting evidence-based civic dialogue and action, and advocating for accountability and transparency in support of Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GEWE). This achievement was accomplished by successfully conducting a three-day capacity development training at the ward level in 20 project wards across 10 local governments, aimed at empowering women and marginalized groups, particularly Dalits, regarding social accountability and the significance of gender equality. Master Trainers led the sessions utilizing specialized training manuals, which stand out for incorporating Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) viewpoints, offering a thorough approach to participatory learning. It presents essential ideas, methods, and practical resources for advancing gender-sensitive governance, accountability systems, and inclusive public participation. The effects of the training are evidently shown in the outcomes of the pre and post-assessments. The typical pre-training score of 26% rose to56% after the training, indicating a significant enhancement in participants' understanding. Similarly, training evaluation shows that most of the participants rated the training facilitation skills, use of training materials, role of facilitators, and training management and logistics as very good to excellent. Alongside capacity development, the project obtained official authorization from local government entities to carry out project activities, representing a significant achievement in putting the initiative into action locally.
