Master TOT Accomplished

Pro Public, under its "Social Accountability for Gender Equality" project supported by UN Women, completed a three-day Master Training of Trainers (ToT) on Social Accountability, Gender Equality, and Women’s Empowerment. The training was held from March 25 to 27, 2025, in Butwal, Rupandehi.

The main objective of the training was to build a resource pool of trainers equipped with knowledge and skills on social accountability tools and practices—such as Right to Information (RTI), Public Hearing, Citizen Report Card, Citizen Charter, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), and Participatory Planning and Budgeting. These trainers are expected to promote transparency and accountability and influence local decision-making processes to advance gender equality. A total of 23 participants took part in the training, including 16 women, 6 men, and 1 from another gender identity. The participants represented diverse backgrounds, with 7 from Madhesh Province, 9 from Karnali Province, and 7 from Sudurpaschim Province.

The training was highly effective, with all participants expressing satisfaction and reaffirming their commitment to conduct similar three-day capacity development trainings in their respective local government units. These future trainings will focus on empowering women, Dalits, indigenous communities (Janjatis), and persons with disabilities.
