Project Monitoring Team Assessed the activities under the project "Social Accountability for Gender Equality"(SAGEP).

A dedicated Project Monitoring Team (PMT) has successfully concluded a comprehensive assessment of field-level activities and their outcomes across multiple project sites. The team, comprising Dr. Nirmal KC, GESI expert; Mr. Prakash Kumar Dahal, General Secretary of Pro-Public; and Mr. Babu Ram Paudel, Executive Director of Pro-Public, along with chairs of Consortium Partner Organizations, evaluated interventions in Karnali, Sudurpanchim from 12 to 16 June 2025. Madhesh from  21 to 22 June, 2025, where Pro-Public has been implementing the project directly, and assessed the field-level activities and their outcomes following project interventions.

During their recent site visits, PMT members engaged directly with local government officials, including the Chair and Vice-Chairs of Chaukune Rural Municipality in Surkhet, Chure Rural Municipality in Kailali District, and Nagrain Municipality in Dhanusa District. They also held interactive sessions with local training participants who had completed a three-day capacity-building program.

The team assessed the impact of project interventions and observed ongoing field activities, including public hearings, community dialogues, and orientation training sessions focused on inclusive participatory planning and budgeting. The PMT expressed appreciation for the efforts of the partners and the project team, acknowledging their commitment to driving positive change.

To further enhance the effectiveness of future interventions, the PMT provided the following key recommendations:

  • Strengthen coordination with local governments through joint planning and regular reviews.
  • Plan community events inclusively and well in advance to significantly boost participation.
  • Engage trained women and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) as local facilitators and champions for accountability.
  • Institutionalize feedback loops after key events to enhance learning and facilitate adaptive planning.

These recommendations are expected to guide the next phase of project implementation, ensuring even more impactful and sustainable outcomes for the communities involved.
