Sensitization program to the judges specifically on environment and justice is quite interesting to cope with the increasing complex challenges of day ahead due to increased complex scale environmental problem and impact on environment due to globalization, trade liberalization etc. and its impact on our natural environment. In this context, Pro Public had organized a four day workshop for the judges from various courts on "Environment and Justice" in July 2001 covering a wide range of hot issues related to Environmental Conservation. The area covered in that workshop includes, biodiversity conservation, air pollution, water pollution, solid waste management issues etc. Under this program Pro Public worked to protect the Chimidi lake and various ponds of Janakpur Metropolitan city by different activities, i.e, community awareness, fixing hoarding boards and so forth.
