Strengthening and Promoting Culture of Peace- Civil Peace Service Program (SPCP-CPSP)

The GIZ/Civil Peace Service Program has been collaborating with Pro Public since June 2011 to enhance Community Mediation and Peace Building activities. Supported by GIZ-CPS, the program provides technical assistance, including roles such as an international Peace Facilitator and local professionals. It aims to strengthen infrastructures for peace through inclusive methods like dialogue and nonviolent conflict transformation, integrating the "do no harm" approach. Key objectives include educating political actors on peace infrastructures, enhancing institutional capacities, and promoting nonviolent conflict transformation. Activities such as nonviolent communication, mediation, and dialogue support these goals, addressing societal power imbalances with empathy and fairness. The project also advocates for inclusion of marginalized groups and women in decision-making processes, using media and dialogue formats. Challenges include coordinating diverse community attitudes and potential dependency on the program. Despite risks like nepotism, the project strives to foster a harmonious community through awareness and practice of nonviolent conflict resolution.
