Pro Public conducted three rounds of surveys in 12 districts absorbing ex-combatants in Nepal, including in the districts of Sunsari and Saptari in the east; Makawanpur in the central; Nawalparasi, Rupandehi Kapilvastu in the west; Dang, Surkhet, Banke and Bardiya in the mid-west; and Kailali in the far west, during August 2012 to August 2013 with the support of GIZ/STPP. The major focuses of the survey were to identify demographic data of ECs including their capacity, needs and interests; level of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Readiness to Reconcile (R2R); needs and capacities of the community; conflict Resolution Mechanism; concerns and Capabilities of ex-combatants, perception of key actors towards ex-combatants.
