Multiplication and Follow-Up (Activities) of the Project Completed

As a major milestone of the project – Supporting reconciliation through theatre facilitated dialogue, Multiplication and Follow-Up (Part C) of the playback theatre has been successfully completed in all of the project districts. It was started recently after completing the advanced training (June, 2015) on playback theatre and accomplished during the first week of October, 2015. Under this part, the team of dialogue facilitators (DFs) from each of six project districts has fascinatingly performed 12 playback theatre events and six advisory meetings with the concerned stakeholders prior to the performances in each community and the process was frequently mentored and monitored by the project staffs and lead theatre artists to continue the confidence of DFs.

During the multiplication and follow-up, the DFs initiated to invite ex-combatants, conflict victims and affected people of their communities as audiences in playback events. The audiences shared the stories of personnel pain, suffering and human right violation during the conflict time. The shared stories were enacted in front them to promote empathy and acknowledgement to them.   Many stories that were never shared before to anyone also shared in the events. It gave them good space to open the pain/happiness and share in front of community people.  Very limited people got the opportunity to share their stories. And, they expect more events in their communities.
