Training on Emotional Expression and Relaxation completed

Pro Public (Forum for Protection of Public Interest) organized two rounds of 3 days training on ‘Emotional Expression and Relaxation’ at Theatre Village, Lazimpat, Kathmandu. The training was financially supported by GIZ and facilitated by Prof. Dr. Marcus Stueck, Director of Center of Educational Heal, Germany. The first round of training was held from 08 August to 10 August, 2015 and the second from 11 August to 13 August, 2015. The purpose of training was to address the post earthquake trauma and psychological healing of the people of Nepal especially targeting the children. The theme of both rounds of training was different and the approaches were different too. The theme of both round of training was “Healing through Emotional Expression, Social Interaction and Relaxation”. There were the perfect blend theoretical and practical approaches to deal with children and deal with the trauma and anxiety through dance, yoga, art and music.

The training was focused for those working professionals who have direct contact with children. Thus the target group was teachers, representatives from government offices and theatre artists. The school teachers from Dhading and Lalitpur were the participants in first round of the training. Similarly, there were participants/teachers from Kathmandu and Bhaktapur  in the second round of the training.
