I4P and peace needs research completed in 10 districts of Nepal

Conflict is ubiquitous and a natural phenomenon in all societies. Skills, knowledge and support mechanisms can help prevent people from entering negative conflict spirals and instead empower them to deal with conflicts in a constructive way and fuel positive relationships. Lately, infrastructures for peace (i4p) are being recognized as a promising concept. They are considered critical components in enabling communities, countries, and regional and international organizations to deal with conflicts effectively and reduce, and possibly even prevent, violence.

In the current context, where there is no concrete documentation of people’s peace needs, limited information regarding the i4ps and their effectiveness, and no analysis investigating overlaps and gaps in services, Pro Public deems it necessary to carry out an in-depth study in order to gain clear picture regarding Nepal’s ability to deal with conflicts in a non-violent manner and strengthen collaborative relationships among its citizens: its Infrastructure for Peace.

The overall objective is to complete an infrastructures for peace market study. Besides the study aims to identify the existing formal and informal infrastructures for peace in the focus districts and VDCs and analyze their mandates.

The research location for the I4P Market Study are as follows:
