Pro Public implemented the Support for Capacity Building of the Local Dialogue Facilitators and Organizations, Establishment and Sustainability of Dialogue Centers for Peace Building project since December 2013 to September 2014 under the financial support from NPTF/GIZ in six communities (Triyuga/Udayapur, Gauribas/Mahottari, Parroha/Rupandehi, Bijauri/Dang, Gulariya/Bardiya and Binauna/Banke). The main objectives of the project are to capacitate the local Dialogue Facilitators and to coordinate the peace activities. In various events over the period of project, the community people expressed that love, peace, solidarity, and compassion as the primary teachings of the events. Enhanced self-confidence and self-esteem, improved leadership skills of Dialogue Facilitators in dispute mediation and event organizations and their active initiation to transform the society into a peaceful one by the integration of all the members of the society were the immediate impacts of the project activities.

The Dialogue Facilitators (DFs) organized peace events in their respective communities to bring the members of both ex-combatants and community together for a good cause. The aims of organizing such peace events are to heal from the past and move ahead with a constructive outlook for the future. DFs have initiated spreading the message of peace and harmony in their communities through various peace events such as Psychosocial support camps, Street Drama, Eye camp, Reproductive Health camp etc. Following table illustrates the activities conducted by DFs in coordination with Village Development Committees (VDCs), Municipality Offices, District Public Health Office, District and village level peace committees (LPCs) and other stakeholders in their respective communities.
