Pro Public – in association with CSSP – Berlin, organized a national level interaction programme to outreach the project: “Supporting Reconciliation through Theatre Facilitated Dialogue” on 27th of November, 2015 at Hotel Himalaya, Kupondole, Lalitpur. We were honored to welcome the Chairperson of Truth and Reconciliation Commission Nepal as Chief Guest and German Ambassador as Special Guest in the programme. The programme was attended by more than 110 representatives ranging from members of TRC, high level officials of the Government of Nepal, secretary of CIEDP to peace workers from donors, I/NGOs and peace practitioners in Nepal.
Pro Public’s executive director chaired the programme followed by the presentation on the project objective and achievements by Anne Dirnstorfer from CSSP, documentary releaser and show; playback performance by a group of national level theater artists; experience sharing by the dialogue facilitators representing from the project districts and question & answer session to clarify the concerns of participants about the project.
The TRC Chairperson, German Ambassador, Secretary of CIEPD and Joint Secretary of MoPR addressed in the programme after observing the activities; appreciated the project and suggested for collaboration with them for strengthening healing and reconciliation activities in communities in future. A newly introduced concept of Playback Theatre – Chautari Natak – in Nepal was familiarized successfully and appreciated by the participants in the programme energizing us to continue the programme in communities.
